A standing figure gathered at a single axis, luminous through the middle and thinning toward the edges, a body that is every body and so is no one’s. Thirty-five historical paintings of Eve (Dürer, Cranach, Masaccio, Valadon, Merritt and others) aligned on the body axis and averaged at equal 1/35 weight, no source dominating. The canonical standing nude revealed as itself a composite.
